In describing the Kingdom of Heaven, Jesus compares it to a fishing net that was dropped into a lake. When the net was pulled up it contained many fish.

The fishermen pulled the net of fish onto the shore and separated the good fish from the bad fish. The good fish they took home and the bad fish they threw away. At the end of the age it will be the same way.  The angels will separate the Christ followers who have been declared righteous from the wicked, and the wicked will be thrown into the fiery furnace.
