Zechariah and the Promise Still Growing By Ismael Burciaga
The people of Israel were tired. The temple stood unfinished, enemies surrounded them, and discouragement whispered that their efforts no longer mattered. Into that weariness, God sent the prophet Zechariah with a word not of rebuke, but of reassurance.
Zechariah spoke of visions where God had not abandoned His people. Though the work looked small and progress slow, heaven had already marked the outcome. God reminded Israel that the field still belonged to Him. What He planted in promise would not fail because of resistance.
The prophet warned them not to despise small beginnings. Opposition was not proof of defeat, but evidence that restoration was underway. God had already placed His Spirit within the work, and no enemy could uproot what He had established.
Zechariah’s message was simple. Stay faithful. Keep building. Do not let surrounding voices distract from the calling placed before you. God would finish what He began, not by strength or power, but by His Spirit.
