he creation of the world happened in six days. Before anything was created, the earth had no form and was dark, but God hovered over the waters. In the beginning of all things, God created the heavens and the earth. He created the heavens, the earth and all living things.
Each day God formed and fashioned and breathed life into the world that we know today. Each day he created a different part of our universe.
Day 1 – God created day and night. He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Then he separated the light he had created from the darkness. And there was evening and there was morning.
Day 2 – God separated water from water and created an expanse. The expanse he called sky.
Day 3 – God created land and sea by gathering the water together and creating dry ground. On the dry ground he created seed-bearing vegetation of every kind. Plants bore seed and trees bore fruit.
Day 4 – God made the sun, the moon and the stars.
Day 5 – God created all birds and creatures of the sea. He blessed them and told them to multiply and fill the seas and the air.
Day 6 – God created all wild animals, livestock and creatures that move along the ground. Then God created man to rule over the earth. He created man in his own image… in the image of God. He blessed man saying, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
And God saw all that he had made, and he said that it was good.
Day 7 – God rested. And he made the seventh day holy, because it was on that day that God rested.
In six days, God created the world. What a wonder to look at our world today and see the mighty work of His hands.
