When the Heart Turns Toward God
"We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you."
2 Chronicles 20:12
There are moments when life presses hard and the next step feels unclear. Jehoshaphat knew that feeling well. A vast army marched toward Judah, and fear rose within him, yet his first move was to seek the Lord. This simple decision changed everything. Turning to God at the start reorders the heart and reminds the soul that the story is not carried by human strength.
Jehoshaphat stood before the people and declared who God is. He rehearsed the character of the One who rules nations, keeps covenant, and carries power without limit. Remembering God’s nature reframes every problem. When confidence is placed in His goodness, faith begins to breathe again, and worry loosens its grip.
God then invited His people to stand, obey, and watch Him work. Their responsibility was not to fight but to take their place. Surrender, submission, and sacrifice positioned them to witness what only God could do. Victory began not with weapons but with worship. Praise led the procession, and heaven responded.
The same pattern holds today. Prayer steadies the heart. Remembering God strengthens faith. Obedience creates alignment. Praise opens the way for breakthrough. When every eye turns toward Him, God moves with power that no enemy can withstand.
Today's Focus
Shift attention from the problem to the presence of God. Let prayer, remembrance, obedience, and praise lead the way.
Pray
Lord,
Set the eyes of the heart on You. Teach a rhythm of prayer over panic, remembrance over worry, obedience over fear, and praise over heaviness. Move in every place where surrender is offered, and let Your power lead to victory.
